Discover the Charm of Woodbine Cottage – A Stay Steeped in Heritage and Surrounded by Adventure

Woodbine Cottage isn’t just a beautiful holiday home – it’s a place of historical significance. Born here in 1898, Donald Healey – the legendary creator of the Austin Healey sports car – grew up within these very walls and went on to become one of the most respected names in the British motor industry.

Perfectly Positioned in the Heart of Perranporth

Directly opposite the cottage, you’ll find the beautifully maintained Boating Lake and Gardens – a tranquil spot filled with ducks, colourful flower beds, and plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. In the summer months, you can rent small rowing boats, enjoy a game of Pitch and Putt, or even have a go on the local bowling green (just a small fee applies).

Just a 2-minute stroll up the road takes you to the children’s play park, which also features a football pitch and basketball court. Right next door is the local tennis club – so don’t forget your rackets if you’re up for a friendly game!

Explore Perranporth and Beyond

Perranporth is a lively seaside town on Cornwall’s stunning north coast. With its famous 3-mile golden beach, bustling high street, and wide choice of restaurants, pubs, and takeaways, there’s something for everyone – whether you’re craving a traditional Cornish pasty, cream tea, or fresh fish and chips.

The South West Coast Path runs right through Perranporth, offering incredible cliffside views and rugged beauty. Walk just a few miles along the coast and you’ll reach the charming village of St Agnes, with its own beach, independent shops, and cosy cafés. Along the way, you’ll pass remnants of Cornwall’s mining heritage, including old engine houses perched dramatically on the cliffs.

Dog-Friendly All Year Round

Perranporth Beach welcomes dogs year-round, though leads are required during July and August. There are many other scenic walks nearby too, including trails to St Piran’s Oratory and the fascinating site of the Lost Church.
